B's presentation

Mapping of the field of enquiry
B did this remarkably well. Since our last tutorial, she structured her presentation a lot more, establishing a few debates and linking her work with that of peers. She talked about Mr and Mrs Morrison, Tom Marioni, Gabriel Orozco, Felix Gonzalez Torres...

I think the disctinction between MA and PhD, which I am discovering both through applying for a research degree and supervising an MA student is in the mapping of a .a set of ideas that at the moment could be a few different PhD's, but already have that PhD quality. If she decides to progress onto a research degree, she will have to fucus and make methodological choices, but a research mind is already there. She also showed a thoroughness in her sourcing of information and an enquiring mind through a set of wuestions around materiality/immateriality of artworks and their limits

Documentation
I think B needs to improve on the quality of her visual documentation, although this might be very difficult due to the nature of her work and her subject.
