Interview at SHU

I have another PhD interview at Sheffield Hallam University on the 5th September. This one has a very different feel from the ones at CSM and Chelsea, although that could be my hope and willingness to start the PhD. Seeing the threat posed by research has been an interesting process. The two institutions that interviewed me had a commitment to interdisciplinarity in paper. The reality, however, was a lot different resulting in suspicion and lack of commitment to research that does not follow a social sciences or other traditional path.

At Sheffield, I felt something slightly different. My proposed supervisor has himself a design PhD being a practising artist. Two additional people will constitute my interview panel. I have to prepare a 15-minute presentation which is something I welcome because it lets me lead the beginning of the session, prepare it as I want, and support my assertions with the help of visual documentation. It is coming together quite nicely and I can say I am even enjoying it.
